Summary
When a transaction triggers an approval rule in Reah, it enters a request queue instead of executing immediately. The initiator submits the request, designated approvers review and sign off, and the transaction executes once the required approvals are collected.
Submit a request
When you initiate a transaction that falls within an approval rule — based on amount, type, or your role — Reah automatically routes it to the approval queue instead of executing it.
- Initiate the transaction as normal (transfer, bulk send, conversion, or payroll).
- If the transaction meets an approval rule's conditions, a confirmation screen will indicate it requires approval before executing.
- Review the transaction details and click Initiate Approval.
- The request is sent to the designated approvers. You can track its status from My Requests.
You cannot edit a request after submission.
Approve or reject a request
Approvers are notified when a request is pending their review. Navigate to the Approvals tab under My Requests. You can act on requests from the Approvals tab or My Tasks in the top-right corner of the homepage.
- Select the pending request to view its details — transaction type, amount, initiator, and submission time.
- Review the details and choose: click Approve to add your sign-off (if more approvers are required, the request remains in the queue until the threshold is met), or click Reject to decline the request (the initiator is notified and the transaction does not execute).
Execute an approved request
Once a request collects the required number of approvals, it is ready to execute.
- If the approval flow is configured for automatic execution, the transaction executes immediately once the threshold is met — no additional action required.
- If the approval flow is configured for manual execution, the initiator or an authorized team member must return to the request and click Execute to complete the transaction.
Check your approval flow settings to confirm which execution mode is active for each transaction type.
What happens when a request is rejected or times out
- Rejected — The transaction does not execute. The initiator receives a notification. To proceed, they must submit a new request.
- Timed out — If the required approvals are not collected within the configured timeout window, the request is either auto-rejected or escalated to the Entity Owner, depending on your approval flow settings. The initiator is notified either way.
